SpectiCast Film Screening of PINA
More than eighty people attended the Theater’s first SpectiCast film screening of PINA. The diverse audience, including dancers, watched Pina Bausch’s choreography on the New Hazlett’s large screen.
The film was written and directed by Wim Wenders. He conceived a dance film like none seen before. The movie put the audience deep inside Bausch’s playful, thrillingly unpredictable pieces. Sensual and visually stunning, PINA took us into her imaginative sets (a gliding monorail, a bare stage covered with chairs, a towering man-made waterfall), powerfully rendering the beauty and sheer physicality of the dancers.
SpectiCast distributes film, cultural arts events and alternative content to theatrical venues. We are considering screening more film offerings and we need your help. Visit their website and tell us what you’d like to see at info@newhazletttheater.org.
