CORNINGWORKS remains – A One Woman Show
“If you can’t get rid of the family skeleton, you might as well make it dance.” – George Bernard Shaw
REMAINS is full of imagination and pathos. Half-filled wine glasses, a loved one’s scent left behind in a coat, discovered messages, the memory of family dinners past. Through projected and spoken text, physical acuity, and imaginative theater techniques, this multi-disciplinary, layered dancetheater work journeys through tangible and provocative imagery. REMAINS touches upon universal emotional and tells its story with poignant humor, honesty, and nuance.
In 2013, REMAINS was critically hailed as “a tour de force.” CORNINGWORKS has enriched the original with additional moves, scenery, lighting, and costumes.
Choreographed and performed by Beth Corning and created in collaboration with and directed by, Tony Award-winning Dominique Serrand. Costumes by Sonya Berlovitz. Lighting by Iain Court with a set design by Britton Mauk.
