Reflections Children’s Performance
March 19, 2016
For our Children’s Performance we will present excerpts from Reflections, geared for ages 0-10. Following this performance, there will be an interactive segment where the children can come on stage and dance with the dancers. The total run time for this event is 40-60 minutes.
Five new works to captivate you, sweep you worlds away, and leave you reflecting on where you are and how you got there.
Texture associate artistic director, Kelsey Bartman, creates a sensational new piece set to the music of Coldplay. Artistic director Alan Obuzor’s new work explores humanity’s past and present perspective, perception, and subjugation of human life. It is set to the classical music of Ezio Bosso.
Reflections also includes a new work by Texture dancer Jean-Paul Weaver. This dynamic piece will feature guest dancer Kiera Brinkley. Ms. Brinkley is a native of Portland, Oregon, a member of Polaris Dance Theater, and a pioneer differently-abled dancer and choreographer.
Rounding out the mix are two Point Park University Alumni, Jamie Erin Murphy and Annalee Traylor, each presenting their own debut works.
