Sun Ra was one of the great big-band leaders, pianists, and surrealists of jazz. His purposeful outlandishness was unparalleled, and he exerted a powerful influence over a vast array of artists. The venerable musical genius Marshall Allen now leads the band of 14 plus members who will grace the stage in this Pittsburgh performance.
