Louis Hayes Quintet – Serenade for Horace
Presented by Kente Arts Alliance
Saturday, December 98PM
Jazz Drummer Louis Hayes was a teenager when he left his native Detroit to join legendary pianist and composer Horace Silver in New York. The stretch with Silver was a period of unsurpassed excellence for hard-bop, where Hayes remained at the center, even after leaving Silver’s band. For his latest project, Louis Hayes pays homage to his friend and mentor Horace Silver, with Serenade for Horace.
